The OG Stanley Quencher is amazing. But the cost is real — especially if you're buying one for a kid who'll leave it at school by Thursday. Enter: the Kmart Jumbo Tumbler. When it dropped, social media absolutely lost it. For good reason.
What Is It?
Kmart Australia's 1.18L Jumbo Tumbler with Handle is an unmistakeable nod to the Stanley Quencher. Same silhouette, same handle style, same straw lid, same tapered base. It launched at $15 AUD. Fifteen. Australian. Dollars.
When it first hit shelves the frenzy was real — sold out everywhere in stores and online, TikTok was popping off. These days you should be able to find it at your local big-K in a few different colourways.
What's Good About It
For $15? A lot. The Kmart tumbler has double-wall stainless steel construction and keeps drinks cold for up to 4 hours (compared to Stanley's 11). For a regular use case — commuting, gym, shopping — you're not going to be troubled by a drink that isn't as icy cold as it could have been in a cup that cost four times the price.
It doesn't leak when upright, the lid secures easily, and it fits in your car cup holder. It's cute, it comes in fun colours, and it costs less than a large smoothie.
The Kmart version also has fewer lid parts than the OG Stanley — which means less opportunity for mould to grow in an unnoticed crevice. Practical win.
Kmart has expanded the range with matching accessories: carry bags ($8), replacement straws ($4), and different lid styles ($6). A custom-build for $15 plus pocket change.
✓ What's Good
- $15 — exceptional price point
- Double-wall stainless steel construction
- Doesn't leak when upright
- Fits car cup holders
- Fewer lid parts = easier to clean
- Matching accessories available
- Great for kids or as a backup
✗ Where It Falls Short
- Cold retention only 4 hours vs Stanley's 11
- Finish scratches easily
- Feels lighter — thinner construction
- Hand wash only (no dishwasher)
- Fewer colour options than Stanley
Where It Falls Short
The Kmart dupe is not in the same league as the Stanley. The finish scratches, the construction feels lighter, and you're not going to get the same temperature retention. It's also not dishwasher safe — hand wash only, including the lid.
💧 HHG Tip: Even a $15 bottle can help you drink more water! The best water bottle is the one you'll actually use consistently.
Verdict
For $15, the Kmart Jumbo Tumbler is genuinely impressive. It won't last as long as a Stanley and won't keep things as cold, but for the price? You really can't complain. Buy it for the kids, as a car backup, or to try before upgrading. Nobody cares if you're not drinking from a bougie branded sippy cup.
